PROFILE:
The work of Berlin-based Colombian artist Antonio Castello exists at the intersection of visual art, urban interventions, and storytelling. Working across mixed media, painted photography, and graffiti, Castello moves beyond traditional image-making to construct new, layered realities.

His work draws core inspiration from Latin American Magical Realism—a movement defined by hyper-realistic settings subtly invaded by elements too extraordinary to belong. By applying paint, stencils, and physical marks directly onto photographic prints, he transforms static moments into dynamic, narrative-driven works.

Born in Colombia, Castello studied graphic design in Bogotá before joining Lomography as a global brand ambassador and workshop educator. In 2012, he relocated to New York City to manage online curation and exhibitions for the brand. In 2016, he established his permanent studio in Berlin.

Since then, Castello’s work has been exhibited across international galleries and art festivals. In addition to his gallery practice, he has executed high-profile creative collaborations with institutions and brands including Berlinale and Cannes Film Festivals, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks, BVG, Volkswagen, Urban Spree Berlin and The Museum of Modern Art in Moscow.

Castello is actively open to exhibition opportunities, private commissions, and creative collaborations with film artists, musicians, and international creators.
